Metroline is an E-Line Point-to-Point Ethernet Virtual Connection  (EVC) that extends the End-User Ethernet sites to a Service Provider Network Cloud or between two End-Users for Ethernet Private Lines (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Lines (EVPL) and Ethernet Internet Access.

Metroline™ is a fully managed high-bandwidth secure E-Line point-to-point EVC   that has an high degree of end-to-end transparency, low frame delay, frame delay variation and frame loss ratio. 

Metroline™ is a purpose-built private line that enables the service provider to combine business data, packet voice (VoIP) and Video applications onto a single EVC within three Class of Services (CoS), Basic, Priority Data and Real Time (as described above).  

Metroline is available from 2Mbps to 10Gbps bandwidth speeds with 3 Class of Service Options  - Basic, Priority Data and Real time, allowing End-Users and Service Providers to provision only what they need, then scale bandwidth as their network or application requirements grow. It is flexible and scalable to meet changing business needs. In addition, multiple EVC’s or multiple Ethernet applications/services can be configured per User Network Interface port. This is called Service Multiplexing. For bundling of multiple application/services, all to one bundling is enabled when all the VLAN NIDs at a UNI are mapped to a single EVC.

 

Basic

Is for the end-user data applications that require no guarantees of performance and where cost per Mbps is the key requirement.

Priority Data

Is for the end-users a data application requiring a bandwidth guarantee and Latency is not a requirement.

Real Time

Is for end-users requiring low delay (Latency) for some of their traffic and is an ideal service class for packet voice (VoIP) and Video applications.

A persistent question of users and network operations is how well is the network operating? Quick, consistent transport of traffic across the network is very important. 

Customers are demanding that Service Providers maintain more stringent network performance of which are formalize with Service Level Agreements (SLA's). 

Here at Metrofibre networx our Service Level Agreements  (SLA’s) have been specifically designed to ensure customers uptime of the network and the end-to-end service traffic performance. 

Performance Assurance

For best traffic performance assurance guarantees, we track and measure the performance of traffic transiting across the entire Metrofibre networx network, from customer interface to customer interface, with our Network Performance Management system that collects, monitors and measures end-to-end application/service performance for each MetrolineTM Class of Service (CoS) priority provisioned  (Basic, Priority Data and Real Time).

Our MetrolineTM is monitored centrally at our state of the art Network Operations Center (NOC) to the MEF pre-defined CoS Performance parameter thresholds.
