Dr. Steve Booysen
Executive Chairman / Chief Executive Officer
BCompt (Hons) University of South Africa (Unisa), DCom, University of Pretoria, CA (South Africa).

Dr. Steve Booysen is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Metrofibre Networx.

He is a non-executive director of various listed companies such as, Efficient Group Ltd, Steinhoff Ltd, Clover Ltd, Senwes Group Ltd and Vukile Properties Ltd.

Dr. Steve Booysen is the former Group Chief Executive of Absa Group and is a council member at the University of Pretoria.

Hendrik Oppermann

Hendrik is a Chartered Accountant who has spent most of his career life in Financial Services where he has occupied various positions, mainly in Finance, Operations and Technology. He retired from Absa as Executive for Group Operation and Technology and took up his current role in Metrofibre as Chief Financial Officer.

Johan van der Lith

Johan is the Chief Technical Officer and is responsible for the engineering of Metrofibre’s network. Johan has more than 30 years’ experience in the design of wire-line and wireless telecommunications networks. He is a founding member of Dark Fibre Africa and Metrofibre Networx.

Gary Webster
Head of Wholesale

Gary Webster has worked in the Telco / ICT sector for more than 25 years. After several years of sales in the PABX sector and 7 years at Grintek Telecom Gary worked for 2 years in Africa where he was involved with the implementation of in country banking networks . Subsequent to this he joined Vox Telecom where he worked for 7 years before joining Neotel as Sales manager of New Business Acquisition . Gary joined MFN in April 2015 as Head of Sales.

Jacques de Villiers
Head of FTTH

Jacques is a certified IT professional with extensive business backround. He was a co-founder and director at Mondial IT Solutions that was sold to a listed company in 2008. Jacques has also been involved in multiple ERP projects both locally and internationally.

Ntsiki Ntuli
Head of Human Resources
BA Ind. Psy University of South Africa. Human Resources Practitioner (HRP) – South African Board for People Practices (SABPP).

Ntsiki is heading up the HR department at Metrofibre Networx.  She is responsible for linking human resources to the company’s strategic goal by setting up processes, practices and policies that support the achievement of the organisation’s business goals.
Ntsiki is a registered HRP who has been practising as a generalist in the HR fraternity for the past 14 years.  She has worked in the financial, consultancy, retail, and now currently the ICT industries.

Eugene Slabbert
Project Management Executive

Eugene Slabbert is a key member of the Executive Management of MetroFibre Networx where he is responsible for strategic network planning and budgeting, as well as for the rollout of the core, distribution and access elements of the MFN network.  He is a graduated electronics engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Eugene received his BSc Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Pretoria in 1979 and started his career as a junior engineer in the telecommunications division of Armscor.  
During his career Eugene build a successful track record in the planning, design and implementation of large communication systems, project management and business development in the telecommunications industry. He worked as telecommunications consultant for a number of large telecommunications operators and during this time he was involved with the planning and rollout of transmission networks in Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Tanzania. In the last ten years he was actively involved in developing the fibre services market in South Africa. Eugene introduced the dark fibre service concept into the South African market in 2006 and as one of the founders of Dark Fibre Africa (Pty) Ltd he was responsible for the development for the startup business plan for the company and also played a key role in the development of a number of technical specifications for the successful rollout of fibre optic network infrastructure; some of these specifications currently constitute the basis of the technical specifications for a number of the large network operators in South Africa.
Before joining MetroFibre Networx, Eugene was the Chief Executive Officer Muvoni Weltex Network Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a company that was specifically created to enable rapid rollout of the fibre routes for Dark Fibre Africa during the startup years of the company by pioneering the use of mini and micro trenching technologies in South Africa.
