Role Summary

The Communications Officer supports the Communications, Sponsorship and Events Manager in executing the company's internal and external communication strategies. This role is responsible for generating high-quality content, managing communication channels, and ensuring consistent and effective messaging across various platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, a collaborative team player, and a strategic thinker with experience in content development, campaign execution, and communication performance reporting

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and effective communication on business updates, initiatives, and project developments.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration by facilitating clear communication and aligning messaging with organisational priorities.
  • Utilise platforms such as Monday.com, HubSpot, and Everlytic to support internal communication workflows and task management.
  • Develop engaging, brand-aligned content tailored to diverse audiences across digital, print, and internal communication platforms.
  • Translate complex information into simple, compelling messaging for both internal and external use.
  • Maintain consistency in tone, language, and visual alignment across all communication materials.
  • Assist in the creation of customer-facing communications (B2B and B2C, as well as B2B2C) including newsletters, announcements, product updates, and educational content.
  • Support the execution of direct marketing campaigns and digital content initiatives to engage prospective and existing customers.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team to ensure alignment of messaging and campaign objectives.
  • Write compelling marketing communication to generate leads, upsell and cross sell.
  • Distribution and measurement of all outgoing communication.
  • Draft and manage regular internal communications to inform, engage, and align employees, including recurring formats such as internal newsletters and themed emailers.
  • Contribute to internal engagement campaigns that promote company culture, employee recognition, and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain and update intranet content to reflect current company initiatives and key messages.

Qualifications Required:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

 

Work Experience:

  • 10 years in a communications or related role, with proven experience in both internal and external communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and produce content across a range of formats and platforms.

 

Skills Required:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in content management systems and communication tools (e.g. HubSpot, WordPress, Everlytic, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong understanding of corporate communication principles and brand consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
