As you may know, over the past month or two, the municipality has been doing repairs to the roads in the Bloemhof area. As they work to repair and replace sections of the road (this includes retarring and scraping of the roads), unfortunately they damage the fibre lines that provide your customers with internet connectivity from time to time. Each instance is unique and, on some occasions, MetroFibre has to allow them the time to finish their repairs of a section of the road before we are able to start with our repairs.
We understand that this is frustrating for your customers, and we assure you that we are committed to ensuring that each repair is undertaken as quickly as possible. Please continue to inform us as soon as you become aware of any breaks or outages affecting your customers services so that we can get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
As soon as we are aware of any outages affecting your customer’s internet connectivity, we immediately dispatch a team to investigate and repair the break. We will continue to complete these repairs as they happen. The municipality has advised that they will continue working until mid-December and then they will stop until early January when they will continue until they will pick up again to finalise the work.
